Configuring your OVH registered domain with a VPS Plesk hosting

As at the begging I struggled a little bit on performing this task I decided to write a post for those who may face this issue in the future.

After I figured out how easy this actually is I allow myself to give a piece of advise: If you already spent more than 10 minutes trying to configure your OVr registered domain with your VPS Plesk hosting you are probably looking in a misleading direction.

Basically, all you need to do is to change the default name servers of your domain with the name servers of your VPS Plesk configured domain. For so doing follow these two steps:

Step 1: On your Plesk dashboard go to Hosting > Domains > example.net (your domain) > DNS Settings and make sure your DNS servers is set as the master DNS server for your DNS Zone. Next on the DNS zone look for the records defining your name servers, e.g.

  • ns1.example.net.           A             10.10.10.10
  • ns2.exemple.net.           A             10.10.10.10

Step 2: On your OVH Dashboard go to Web > Domains > example.net (your domain) > Modify DNS Servers and replace the default DNS servers with those from your VPS Plesk domain DNS zone.

That is all, your all all set to go now. All you need to do is to wait for the DNS update which may take between 24 and 48 hours.
